I am still a little stunned that I am sitting in my living room on April 4th and that I am no longer pregnant. My due date was not until the 18th. I was hoping to have our little boy early... like sometime between the 8th and 12th. I had just finished working last Friday and had planned to get things ready this week in case things did happen early. So much for my plans... I should know better! When I realized my water had broken on Monday afternoon I thought... hmm, maybe now would be a good time to pack my bags and figure out what I'm going to do with my kids while I'm in the hospital. Oh, and maybe I should call my friends to let them know I wouldn't be able to make it to my baby shower that night! (Yes, I missed my own shower. My dear friends had a great party in my behalf and then filled my home with all the generous gifts.) So much for my week of planning and organizing... ready or not here he comes!!!
At 1:15 am on April 1st our perfect, little, handsome baby boy entered the world! He weighed in at only 6lbs 13oz, my lightest baby yet and not anywhere near the 8lbs my ultrasound predicted- thank heaven! He is 20 inches long and has a bit of dark hair, not too unlike his daddy! ;)
Afton is so excited to have Jacob home now. She is so good at holding him and wants to hold him all the time, especially when a visitor comes over and takes a turn... she is a great big sister. Chelsea is not quite as obsessed, but loves baby Jacob just the same. She is especially good at peeking in on him when he is peacefully sleeping!
We are so happy to have Jacob in our family! He is so cute and little and fun to snuggle. It will be fun to watch him grow and get to know what his little personality is like. Judging from the way and the day he made his entry into the world... we're in for a fun ride!

he's so beautiful. i wish i was there to steal him from you and just cuddle him. i think he looks like you lindsay. boys are definately different than girls, but you'll love it. i had seth before my shower, he was a month early, so i feel your pain! lol...i know i'm far, but let me know if i can do anything for you.

He is a doll! Makes me think I need to pack MY BAGS and I still have 9 weeks left. There's just something about having a newborn in your life again, isn't there? It's like filling up a hole in your heart that you didn't know was there. Have fun soaking up all these precious moments.
