Our Family

It's a little blurry, but here we all are! Everyone went to church today and left Jacob and I to have a lovely nap in a wonderfully quiet home! BLISS!
We have been enjoying having my mom here to take care of us. I don't know what I'll do when she leaves on Tuesday... I'll have to go back to doing my own dishes and laundry, and give some more attention to my girls. Can I do it? I guess I'll figure it out. If anyone has any great advice on managing a newborn, a two year old, and a four year old... please impart! (The two year old is my biggest dilemma... she's a joy, but she's sure busy!)

you can do it! give the older kids all the attention you can while the baby sleeps a lot and doesn't need so much attention. you won't feel like it because you'll be tired, but the better you make them feel now the faster they adjust to the change. Remember the first few months are soooooo hard, but then the baby will sleep more through the night, you'll get your new routine of having three kids down, and it will be better. you can do it. you might just be in survival mode for awhile, but that's okay. it will be okay-maybe just not right away :)

i'll get off my soapbox! i just really needed to know that a couple months back myself. and still do from time to time!

you will do great!

I obviously don't have any advice on that particular subject - only having one three year old myself (and being terrified of having another!) but just wanted to tell you that your family is just beautiful. I'm so in awe of you Linds!

The two year old is a challenge. They are busy. I found that by giving Jack lots of attention while Addy slept that it went better. Now he does not feel the need to "help" while I am nursing her or need my immediate attention during nursing and is even excited to see the baby now. (we also are going to buy a gate to keep him out of the kitchen because he climbs chairs on to the counter and that could lead to serious problems while I am tending to the baby)

I don't have any advice, I just wanted to tell you that you look AWESOME for just having had your third baby. What is this with you gorgeous people who look great after only a couple of days. I still look like a train hit me three months later. =)

Linds-
Look its the Bodell 5! What a cute family. I am sure you will do great with all 3 kids. It will take some time to adjust but I know you will get it. Call me if you need a break- I am more than happy to come over and help you out.

Hey Lindsay! I found your blog through April's. It's so good to see you all! Congrats on the newest addition...you all look wonderful! I haven't ventured into that 3rd child realm yet...but I would probably use the tv as a helper. There are a lot of great PBS kids shows-educational and entertaining! Yes it's a crutch but in your situation definately necessary! Congrats!

Lindsey! What a cute family you have! I can't believe you have 3 kids. I gotta do some catching up! Your girls are just darling and your little boy is so handsome! Little is a relative term for my boy! Its so fun to keep track of you now and then and see what you are up to especially when we live in so many different places! I hope all is well for you and your family! Best wishes!
Love,
Kim (Turner) Howard
